This process post I’ve decided to focus on my progress and thoughts on the state of my blog. Over the past 6 weeks, I’ve been working a full time job as a video producer, creating content for this blog, completing assignments for this class and a visual analytics class as well. I haven’t had much time to sit back and think about if the content that I am producing is meaningful to me, or if it is just content that I have to produce for school.
So far I’ve created 5 posts on my blog. So I am just about on track for 12 by the end of the term. I’ve set up a layout that would make it easy to take in the content that I’m creating for the blog. Going to videos will give all the content that people WANT to see, filtering out the assignments to different tabs. I think it just makes more sense that the assignments be the least important aspect of my blog, and should be in the background compared to the blog posts, including these process posts.
When I first started this blog, I was a lot more inclined to make content that I thought would bring more emotion. As the weeks went on, it got a little bit harder to create content that I wanted to create. I think being stressed from creating all the content outside of the blog posts makes it harder to create better video content. It makes me have to compromise the quality of my videos , which makes it harder to have the motivation to create videos in the first place.
Going forward with this blog, I think I need to evaluate how much effort I want to put into some of the other content, so that I can focus more on the content that is more meaningful within this class and in this blog. The last thing that I want to do, is leave this class unfulfilled and unsatisfied with the quality of the content that I am creating for this blog.
